News has come that Skoda have reopened bookings for the Octavia vRS. The Czech automaker sold the car here last year, and soon it went out of stock. Skoda initially planned to sell 250 units of the Octavia vRS, which quickly sold out in a couple of months.
Skoda India has re-opened bookings for its fastest car – the Octavia vRS, delivery by this festive season.
Skoda will bring a new batch of the Octavia vRS, thereby reopening bookings for it. Deliveries are expected to take place soon, mostly during the upcoming festive season. The Octavia vRS, much like its stock sibling, will be assembled in a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) form at Skoda’s factory in Aurangabad.
The Octavia vRS will carry a host of new features. These include a 9.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, auto parking, Alcantara sports bucket seats and so on. The cabin will feature a black leather upholstery with red stitching and a multi-functional vRS steering wheel.
Skoda Octavia RS is not much of a bargain anymore, the price has gone up by over INR 2 lakh since the launch.
Engine-wise, the Octavia vRS will be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. This engine is capable of delivering 220 BHP of power and 350 Nm of torque It will come mated to a 6-speed, twin-clutch automatic gearbox.
On the safety front, the Octavia vRS gets 9 airbags, traction control, ABS with EBD, ESP and a park assist system. The vRS, launched last year, had a price tag of Rs.26.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the official announcement regarding the price has not yet come out, we can expect it to be roughly similar to the one last year.
