Skoda India has launched the fastest Octavia ever, the Skoda Octavia RS available only in the single top-spec Style-Plus variant at priced at Rs. 24.62 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
The performance-focused car gets the same overall design as the standard car, but with sportier overtones. It gets the controversial front end design introduced on the regular variants – inspired by the Kodiaq SUV, a glossy black grille with chrome surround and the RS logo. At the back, the RS gets a rear spoiler and revised rear bumper housing twin stainless steel tail pipes that differentiate it from the regular Octavia.
Inside you’ll find all-black interior and the Alcantra seats get unique red stitching with plenty of RS badges everywhere. The car gets carbon finish door inserts and a flat bottom steering wheel for that sporty quotient. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, LED ambient lighting and panoramic electric sunroof are available.
No surprises for guessing! It’s powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that punches-out 230 BHP of power between 5500-6200 RPM and 350 Nm of torque between 1500-4500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with sport mode which sends power to the front wheels. It sprints from 0-100 KMPH in 6.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 KMPH.
Under the skin, the sports suspension has been made 15 mm lower compared to the regular Octavia. Also comes fitted with an XDS+ electronic limited-slip differential and Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) with Comfort, Normal and Sport modes. It uses a variable ratio steering rack and rides on 17-inch blackened 10-spoke alloy wheels. Also gets all-around disc brakes with red painted calipers.
