SPYSHOTS: Skoda Octavia 2017 version (facelift) prototype caught testing in India

The updated Skoda Octavia, due for launch in mid-2017, has been spotted testing totally undisguised near Aurangabad recently. The update comes in the wake of growing competition from the Hyundai Elantra and the new Honda civic, which will also be launched later this-year.

The pictures unveil the car having similar looks in the front face to it’s sibling, which is sold internationally. The new front grille, along with split LED headlamps dominate the front while the rear remains largely unchanged barring minor tweaks to the bumpers.

The Octavia 2017 model sees exciting new changes on the exterior as well as on the interior.

The dashboard is expected to retain the same design as on the current model, but the car sport a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system salon with the new instrument cluster.

Powertrain options are expected to be the same existing 1.4 TSI petrol having 6-speed manual gearbox and the exciting 1.8 TSI petrol with a 7-speed DSG and the 2.0 TDI diesel with 6-speed automatic transmission.

The recent facelift will increase Skoda’s product portfolio of one of its mainstays in India and provide some interesting Tech to customers. Expect the price to be marginally higher than the current Octavia on-sale.
