A month ago Skoda unveiled its small car based on the Volkswagen Up platform. The CitiGo is nothing but a re-badged Volkswagen Up!, with Skoda styling. Skoda will be launching the CitiGo in its home town in Czech Republic soon and will follow it with a European launch by the end of the year. The company is yet to confirm the India launch of the Skoda CitiGo yet, but various sources point to a release in the later half of 2012.
In the small car segment, Skoda Fabia is the most affordable car in India from Skoda’s stable, and it is also considered to be in premium hatchback segment in India because of its price bracket. Most of the car sales volume is from the cars in the price bracket of Rs. 2.5 to Rs. 4.5 Lakhs.
Skoda CitiGo measures under 4 meter in length with 3.56mx1.65mx1.48m (length x width x height) and will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine with two power outputs – 59bhp and 74bhp. The CitiGo will be available in both manual and automatic transmissions.
Now Skoda has released the official promotional video of the CitiGo, which showcases the small car in real day to day situations. (See video below the jump)
