It was last year when Maruti Suzuki showcased their compact SUV model XA-Alpha at Delhi Auto Expo. But now Holiday Auto magazine of Japan has rendered the image which is claimed to be Suzuki Jimny, But rendered image is close enough to match the XA-Alpha. This rendered image of Suzuki Jimny is lot more similar to production model of XA-Alpha. This image was posted on SuzukiFan.com.
Suzuki XA-Alpha is yet another mini SUV which is all set to take on duster and ford eco sport. It is said to be developed under swift platform, hence we can just imagine about the length and space inside the car. This car is a fourth model which is said to be build under this platform after swift, desire and Ertiga. Car manufactures are desperately looking for this segment after the huge success of Duster, price is expected to be even cheaper than duster.
Production model of jimny looks taller and has roof rails unlike concept model of XA-Alpha. According to specification sheet shared by Marti Suzuki the car is exactly 4000m, 1600mm in height and 1900mm in width. This vehicle may be powered with 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3-litre DDIS diesel engine. We can expect the launch in end 2014.
