RENDERED: Renault/Dacia low-cost mini SUV (EcoSport rival) for India

Renault India should be looking at introducing a Renault/Dacia sub-Duster mini SUV sometime in the near future. The mini SUV has already been spotted several times during its test rounds in Europe and will be positioned against cars like the Ford EcoSport. Now Auto Bild has released a speculated render image of the mini SUV, revealing few details.

rendered-renault-dacia-mini-suvRenault’s mini SUV is a ‘toned-down version’ of the Captur crossover.

This sub-Duster mini SUV will be positioned below Duster and Captur. To keep the costs down, this mini SUV borrows its underpinning from the Duster and body shell from the Captur, it is expected to take less time in its production. However, the premium styling and high-end features of the Captur would be removed to be positioned below.

The low-cost Renault SUV looks appealing. Features like headlamps, tail lamps and door handles are expected to be sourced from Dacia Sandero and Logan. It has a grille that resembles that of the Duster facelift, fender flares and lower body cladding, budget ORVMs and single windscreen wiper. This car looks compact in size, and the same would be offered on the production version also.

The new mini SUV is expected to come with 1.2-litre petrol & 1.5-litre diesel engine.
