The German car manufacturer, Porsche another subsidiary of Volkswagen AG has introduced a ‘Platinum’ edition of the Cayenne priced at Rs 1.07 crore for the petrol and Rs 1.09 crore for the diesel (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Cayenne Platinum edition would be on offer for a limited period of time and can be ordered now with deliveries commencing from August-2016. It will compete with the likes of BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE. This special edition was launched in Europe this April, now comes to India. There are no mechanical changes in the Platinum edition. It will get cosmetic upgrades and additional equipment.
Additional features on the limited-run Cayenne include 20-inch RS Spyder-style alloy wheels, 8-way power adjustable leather sport seats, Alcantara centre panels, the Porsche crest on all headrests and ‘Platinum Edition’ badging on the door sills. Besides the standard colour options, the Cayenne Platinum Edition comes with the choice of an additional colour – Purpurite Metallic.
The Cayenne Platinum edition gets two engine options – the 300bhp 3.6-litre petrol V6 engine and the 245bhp 3.0-litre diesel V6 engine. Both engine options are mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and drive all four wheels.
