Piaggio Vespa LX125 not to get a fibre body and lower price tag

Piaggio Vespa LX125 Automatic Scooter

Piaggio Vespa LX125 was launched has a premium gearless scooter with the stylish body design and the retro look that did give it a premium feel. Although the looks of the scooter are one of the best amongst similar scooters in the market, but that came at a very high cost. Probably the main reason why Vespa could not hit the sales number it was expected.

Recently there was a rumor of a price cut variant of the LX 125 with an all metal body. The new Vespa was rumored to be priced at INR 50,000 which would mean a price cut of approximately INR 15,000. Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited responded to this and in an official statement said that – “Piaggio set-out to create the luxury segment with the launch of the Vespa LX 125 in India in April-2012. The information on Vespa unveiling a fibre body variant and reducing price to Rs 50,000/- is untrue.”

Well this does mean one thing, Piaggio India is well determined to maintain its premium class in its scooters no matter the cost.
