Mahindra’s Compact SUV S101 (Speculated rendering by Team-BHP’s rendering artist, AntlerRoad.)
After the launch of the much awaited Ford EcoSport, Mahindra is continuously increasing its efforts in order to test Mahindra’s S101. This compact SUV was already spotted testing couple of weeks ago where it towed a pickup truck after which it was once again spotted testing, about which our dear readers have already been updated in our previous posts at BharathAutos.
After those spy shots, Team-BHP’s rendering artist has come up with a speculative render of Mahindra’s Compact SUV S101 based on the recent spy shots obtained. In the earlier spy shots, although the entire dashboard was fully disguised, one of the pics revealed a three dial instrument console with the center one being prominent. S101 is also expected to have high ground clearance along with seating capacity for six adults in a 3+3 layout.
Coming to the technical specifications, Mahindra S101 would be powered with a 1.5-litre 3 cylinder diesel engine already seen in the Quanto along with a motor from small capacity petrol engines that Mahindra is jointly developing with its South Korean acquisition Ssangyong. Apart from this, Rumors also suggest that the 1.5-litre diesel engine would be transversely mounted (east-west layout), in order to reduce weight and also increase the fuel efficiency.
