The much anticipated production version of the next-generation 2016 Toyota Fortuner will make its debut on July 17, 2015 in Thailand. In India, the next-gen Fortuner is likely to make its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, next-year.
But as usual these days, some images of the new SUV has found its way to the Internet ahead of its debut, and we have them here. As you can see, this new version of the Fortuner retains much of the looks from Lexus range of SUVs. The SUV adopts a floating roofline, which culminates with a roof top spoiler and there is a thin, black plastic cladding running over the wheel arches.
Inside, the 2016 Fortuner is expected to mirror the new Hilux rather closely, with a much more car-like dashboard and interior is equipped with features such as a 7-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, engine start/stop button with keyless entry, cruise control, new instrument cluster and multifunction display and a new multifunction steering wheel.
The engine line-up in the new Fortuner will be updated to offer more power and better efficiency. It will continue to be offered in four-wheel-drive and two-wheel-drive variants, with either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
As far as safety is concerned, the next-gen Fortuner gets ABS + EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill-start Assist, Downhill Assist Control and 7 airbags.
