On the exterior, the facelifted Figo will have a new design, with a revised set of headlamps and tail-lamps. It will get a new grille seen on Ford’s crossover hatchback, the Freestyle here. Other features include 15-inch alloy wheels and new front and rear bumpers.

Interior of the facelifted Figo will be similar to the Aspire compact sedan, which received a facelift last year. It will come with a new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3 technology. Other new features include rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, a climate control system, an engine start/stop button and ambient mood lighting.

The hatchback will come powered by the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Dragon series petrol engine. This engine can make 96 BHP of power and 120 Nm of torque, coming mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Ford will also consider the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel motor seen on the current model, making 100 BHP of power and 215 Nm of torque.

This engine will get a new Getrac-sourced 5-speed manual unit, which will make it a fun driver’s car. A CNG version of the vehicle is also on the cards, which was once spied undergoing testing. The facelifted Figo is expected to come with a much improved seating position, thus rectifying the fault in the current model.

Prices are expected to start from INR. 5 lakh, with top trims costing up to INR. 10 lakh. When launched, the facelifted Figo will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Mahindra KUV100. With the facelifted Figo, Ford will hope to replicate the sales numbers of the original model here, which were decent at best.
