New Audi R8 Facelift teaser released (video)

New 2013 Audi R8 Facelift

The German automaker, Audi has recently published a video which celebrated the fifth birthday of the R8 sportscar. At the very end of the video, Audi left a little easter egg for the automotive world: the message “The new Audi R8 is coming.”

We have been waiting for this news for about half a year now, because we’re fans of the R8 and the way it reshaped the sportscar world. The teaser reveals precious little about what’s coming, but fortunetely we already have a leaked photo for a new bumper.

Earlier we brought the first ever spy pic of the new Audi R8’s front fascia which is doing rounds on the web. From the images, it is shown the facelifted car will get sleeker head lamos with full LED treatment. Also, the front grille should become hexagonal, as seen on the A5 facelift.

No new engines will be introduced to the R8, despite the fact that Audi has already tested both the 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder and a 3.0-liter TFSI. However, both the V8 and V10 will get a power increase. However, the most important change is the fact that Audi is finally replacing the R-tronic with a seven-speed S-tronic double-clutch gearbox.
