Taking a bold step to redefine the SUV market in India, Ford has launched its rugged SUV, the new Ford Endeavour, a technologically advanced, stunningly capable and refined seven-seat SUV in the country prices starting from Rs. 24.76 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
With a rugged, sculptural design that reflects its unshakeable toughness and technological prowess, the new Ford Endeavour blends strength, smart features and style to bring consumers a tough and versatile SUV with true off-road capability. It measures 4,892 mm x 1,860 mm x 1,837 mm (length x width x height) and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm and ground clearance of 225 mm. With all the rear seats folded, the all-new Ford Endeavour can hold up to 2,010 litres of cargo.
Notable features include large two-panel moon roof above the first two rows of seats, leather upholstery, powered driver’s seat, rear camera, powered tailgate, an auto-dimming mirror, automatic HID head lamps and semi-auto parallel park assist. Buyers can also get up to seven airbags, ESP, traction control, hill launch assist and hill descent control. There’s a TFT touch-screen music system with 10 speakers and a Sync system with voice control along with the regulars.
Under the bonnet, two diesel engines are set to feature. A 3.2-litre, 5-cyl Duratorq TDCi mill with 197 hp and 470 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission is available alongside a 2.2-litre, 4-cyl Duratorq TDCi engine with 158 hp and 385 Nm mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. A 2.2-litre variant gets both 4×2 and 4×4 drive options, while 3.2-litre variant is only offered with 4×4 option.
Assembled at Ford’s integrated manufacturing facility in Chennai, a total of 6 colours are on offer – Sunset Red, Golden Bronze, Diamond White, Panther Black, Moondust Silver and Smoke Grey. All variants come with 18-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 265/60 section tyres. The all-new Ford Endeavour will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero and the Chevrolet Trailblazer in India.
