The Japanese car maker Mitsubishi has enjoyed great success with its brilliant range of cars, and in partnership with Hindustan Motors made cars like the Pajero and the Lancer. But, the Japanese car maker has had little success in terms of sales growth in the Indian market. With its recent flops like its sedan Cedia, the Hindustan Motors-Mitsubishi has stopped producing their last sedan in India – The Cedia.
Currently, on-sale is the Cedia sports that comes equipped with a rear spoiler, skirts, Momo steering, Sparco pedals and OZ alloy wheels. Attached to the 2.0-litre engine motor, it delivers a peak power of 115 Bhp and a peak torque of 175Nm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox that offers slick shifts and a linear power delivery.
The Mitsubishi Cedia has been a success in various Indian car rally championships and has been a boy racer’s dream. It’s sad that the car will stop production. If you ever had the dreams of owning a Cedia, then this will be the right time to go out and buy that dream car before its sold out. We have news that there is still some stock of Cedia left with the dealers and these cars are going for a huge discount.
Mitsubishi now plans to focus on another promising and growing interest in India – the SUV segment of the Indian market. Despite vehicles like Pajero not being able to reach the expectations of the company, it did make quiet a name for itself in the market. Even the Mitsubishi Outlander suffered the same fate, if it were to sport a diesel engine like in the International market, then it would have helped a lot in sales.
