German car maker, Mercedes-Benz has dropped some ‘official spy shots’ of the upcoming CLA compact sports sedan. The AMG version of the Mercedes CLA is called Mercedes CLA 45 AMG.
Based on the A-Class, the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the CLA 45 AMG are basically the sedan versions of the hatchbacks.
The base CLA will most likely feature the same powertrain lineup as the A-Class and the CLA 45 AMG will reportedly carry a 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder making 350-hp and 400 Nm of torque. It is speculated to achieve 0-100 kmph in about 5 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
The regular variant of the Mercedes CLA will be officially revealed in January at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG has been officially confirmed to make its debut in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Both cars will be manufactured at the new factory in Hungary.
