Mercedes-Benz have recently revealed that they will launch 10 cars in India in 2018 alone. One such car that doesn’t make the list is the A-Class. The A-Class will be positioned as an entry-level offering in India and Is expected to be positioned over the CLA range.
The company is now studying the requirements of the Sedan to be launched in India. So, as per reports, it will be launched in India next-year. It will come to India as an CBU, so expect its prices to be in the higher range of the market.
Since the CLA and GLA ranges start at the price of Rs. 32 lakhs, expect it to come at a marginally higher price. Coming back to the A-Class, it will be launched in 2 body types : a hatchback and a Sedan. This will be a welcome addition, since older A-Class models only had a hatchback body style.
Expect it to arrive in mid-2019, with other Mercedes models planned being launched this year. This will come in a attempt to up the desirability quotient by Mercedes in the luxury car segment. In all probability, if Mercedes bring the long-wheel base A-Class Sedan sold in China here, then it may be positioned closer the CLA range.
