Maruti Suzuki Celerio launched in India at Rs 3.90 lakh

Maruti Suzuki being the No.1 passenger car manufacturer in the Indian market has yet again taken a great leap by launching India’s first auto gear shift car, Celerio at a price tag starting from INR 3.90 lakhs. After being spotted in various locations across Europe and India, Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the much awaited auto gear shift car in its segment which would compete the likes of Hyundai Santro Xing and the Chevrolet Beat.

Coming to the specifications, Maruti’s Celerio measures 3,600 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width, 1,560 mm in height and comes with a wheelbase measuring 2,425 mm. It also has turning radius of 4.7 meters and a ground clearance of 165 mm. The top variant of the new Celerio is featured with ABS, dual front air bags, Bluetooth enabled music system, alloy wheels and fog lights. Apart from this the new Celerio also features new Suzuki grille, beige and black upholstery, electric OVRMs in all the variants.

Under the hood, Celerio is available in two automatic and four manual engine variants. It is powered by a 998 cc, 1.0-litre K10B engine which produces a maximum power of 67 BHP at a maximum torque of 90 Nm. The manual variant is coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission whereas the automatic variant is an AMT unit which is expected to become a standard feature among competitors. The new AMT technology is only available in LXI and VXI variants.
