Maruti Suzuki Celerio – FrontView
Here’s the modified version of A-Star hatchback (codenamed as YL7) in full undisguised glory! Our good friends at MotorBeam have captured the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio during an unofficial unveiling at the Buddh International Circuit. The production-spec Celerio design looks similar to the A:Wind concept unveiled at the Thailand Motor Show. So, we can expect that the sizzling concept model will come to India very soon.
This particular Celerio appears to be the top-of-the-line ZXi variant, it will also be available equipped with an automated manual transmission (AMT) called ‘EZ DRIVE’. It would be the first car in India to sport such a gearbox. The AMT provides a clutch-free driving experience and is said to be more fuel efficient than a manual gearbox, while also being cheaper than a conventional automatic transmission.
The Celerio will be powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder K-Series petrol engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. This is the same engine that does its duty on the Alto K10, A-Star, Estilo and WagonR. However, the engine is expected to be tuned slightly to enhance the performance of engine and make it more fuel-efficient and high performing.
