Sometime in August-2012, we posted an article about the remodeled Mahindra XUV5OO by Mumbai-based firm DC designs christened as ‘Mahindra XUV5OO DC Lounge’. Although we revealed all the changes and pictures of the interior, the changes on the exterior were unknown. Now folks at Zigwheels reveal the complete details on the Mahindra XUV5OO DC Lounge.
The changes seen on the exterior are minimal with the re-designed bumper and grille. That means the SUV would look the similar to the regular model but the experience inside the car would be a totally different one with DC’s super luxurious interiors kit for the Mahindra XUV5OO.
Once you get-in, firstly you’ll notice that the second and third row of seats have been omitted and a massive 24’’ captian seats are fitted with power controlled calf supports which recline up to 150 degrees. The roof features an aircraft style centre module which offers diffused ambient lighting as well as an individual set of reading lights for each of the rear passengers.
Additionally, two LCD TV and an aircraft-style foldable food trays are fitted on the front seat backs. The XUV5OO DC Lounge emphasizes the cabin with wood grain and chrome inserts. However, the dashboard has not changed much with a caramel color scheme which spread across the seats.
Refresher – The XUV500 is available with a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine which produces 140bhp and 330Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission that drives either the front or all wheels depending on the model.
