Words are being exchanged within the automotive fraternity on the launch of Mahindra Mojo, as the launch nears. Now the BikeDekho reveals that the date isn’t finalized yet but is likely to be held on second week of October, probably on October 13th, 2015.
The Mojo is based on Malaguti MR250, an Italian motorcycle with Mahindra badging. It was first showcased at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo, since than the company kept on developing it until now. The final production version was revealed at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, at the time it reflected Mahindra’s commitment towards the Mojo. It’s not an aggressive sportsbike, but a comfortable cruiser offering relaxed riding experience.
As reported yesterday, the dealerships across India have already started accepting the bookings for the Mahindra’s flagship motorcycle at Rs 10,000/-. Mahindra is expecting to garner some 200 bookings in time for the launch. The folks at Rushlane also say that the company will be offer additional benefit to customers who are pre-booking the Mojo.
The pre-sale orders will benefit – 2 years/unlimited km warranty, a discounted maintenance package for the first 3 scheduled services and possible discounts on insurance and accessories. The accessories include a headlamp protector, engine guard, pannier frames and bag holders to increase luggage carrying capability. The pre-booking benefits are given as reward to buyers who have enough faith to put their money on the 300cc tourer even before the prices are announced.
Powered by a liquid cooled, 300cc, single-cylinder engine with a 4 valve DOHC and mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This unit churns-out around 28 PS of power and 26 Nm of torque. Although the pricing is yet not announced, the Mojo is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1.65 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
