First crash for this special edition Lamborghini. The Lamborghini Aventador 50th Anniversario special edition is a thing of beauty, even in this somewhat appalling bright yellow with yellow interior. With 20 horsepower more than the standard Aventador’s 690hp, the anniversary edition is an even more compelling auto, and apparently – even more challenging to drive. In what is believed to be the first crash for the special edition, this rare example was crashed into a cliff on a narrow Hong Kong road.
The car involved in the crash was so new that the owner hadn’t even taken the plastic covering off of the passenger side seat. While the car doesn’t appear to be totalled, the crash was hard enough to deploy the Lambo’s airbags and cause some significant damage to its exterior. The LP720-4 coupe is expected to be restored and back on the road in Hong Kong shortly, but we can’t imagine what the repair costs will set this unlucky owner back.
Supercar as being crashed more often these days and the most recent example is involving a very rare edition of the Aventador, called the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversario. Why this rarest cars get crashed in Hong Kong, earlier Aston Martin One-77 supercar (only 77 units were built), and now Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversario (only 200 units were built, 100 for the Coupe and 100 for the Roadster)??? 😉
