Isuzu MU-X launched in India – from Rs. 23.99 lakh, 3.0L 4×4 A/T

This is it, SUV enthusiasts – prices and specs of the Indian-spec Isuzu MU-X have been revealed. The D-Max-based V-Cross 7-seater SUV is now on-sale in 4X2 and 4X4 variants.

No matter which variant you choose, the 3.0-litre VGS 4-cylinder VGS turbo diesel engine hides under the bonnet, this powertrain develops 174 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque @ 1,800 – 2,800 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Shift and Brake Shift Lock as standard. The company claims that the 4×2 AT model delivers a mileage of 13.8 KMPL.

Standard across the range are projector headlamps, LED DRLs, auto climate control, leather seats driver’s seat is 6-way power-adjustable, cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a roof-mounted 10-inch DVD entertainment monitor.

As far as safety is concerned, dual-airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, TCS, HSA and traction control are featured. Inside, you’ll find 3-point seat belts for all occupants, second-row Isofix and front seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters.

Assembled in India at Isuzu’s plant in Sri City, the Isuzu MU-X is priced at Rs. 23.99 lakh for the 4X2 and Rs. 25.99 lakh for the 4X4, ex-showroom, New Delhi. Rivals include the new Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, along with a host of other SUVs in its class.
