Is this DC Designs indigenous supercar Buddh?

DC Buddh supercar

Just yesterday we told you about the India’s own automotive design house, DC Design is all set to unveil a supercar at the forthcoming 2012 Auto Expo to be held in Delhi. Now we have the leaked image of DC Buddh as to what the car might look like, thanks to team-bhpian Fireblader85 for the pictures.

The company plans to begin deliveries of the super car by the end of 2013, once it clears the requisite homologation process. Brought out in limited counts, this supercar will be assembled at the company’s Pune branch. It is believed that Amitabh Bachchan will be revealing this car before the audience at the Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.

The ‘desi’ super car will be powered by a turbocharged V6 petrol Honda engine that will be positioned behind the driver, between the two axles, with output in excess of 400 bhp. Like most of the European mid-engined super cars, the kerb weight of the supercar at 1,560 kg, is comparable to those from Europe and in terms of dimensions, will have a footprint close to a Lamborghini Murcielago or Aventador.

DC Designs will turn over 300 units during the first year, and will later rapidly raise the production to 3000 units. After the name ‘Buddh’ for the supercar failed to garner positive reception, the company is still looking for a better name that will stand up to the expectations. Priced below INR 30 lakhs this will make its mark in the market pretty soon.
