The country’s second largest maker, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) is committed in their mission to promote sports popular in India. This auto maker that has been associated with cricket and football in India is now promoting a sport which has not gained immense popularity in this part of the globe. Polo may not be a sport that masses in India prefer, but that certainly did not deter Hyundai from keeping away from this sport.
At the recently concluded Ambassadors Cup polo Tournament held at Jaipur Polo Ground, Hyundai were the chief sponsor. The tournament spread over four days and had six teams battle it out for honors.
“We are delighted to associate with the Indian Polo Association for the Hyundai Sonata Ambassadors Cup 2012. The Sonata is a premium offering from Hyundai, tie-up with the Indian Polo Association that promotes a fine sport like polo provides a great match for both the Sonata and polo,” Mr. Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing and Sales, HMIL said.
He added that Polo is a fine Sport and that the company would love to promote the sport in India. Hyundai displayed The Sonata, the luxurious SUV Santa Fe, the Veloster and the upcoming Elantra during the Polo tournament.
