The Honda CR-V Prototype is already on sale in the United States, but Honda is just preparing to release the new-generation crossover to the European market and the same is also expected to hit the Indian roads somewhere in 2013 including other overseas markets.
European Honda CR-V slightly varies from the U.S. version, changes include a bolder front fascia, a stronger stance, and more pronounced body lines. The front bumper has also been redesigned for better aerodynamics and improved aesthetics.
Also varying from the U.S. version is the headlamps, and while we think the front fascia for the European version is an improvement, the headlamps for the U.S. model have a slightly sleeker appeal.
The fourth generation Honda CR-V for the European market will be powered by the current 2.0-litre iVTEC petrol engine that is tuned to offer more torque and improved fuel efficiency. A 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine unit may also join the engine line-up. The fuel economy is pretty impressive.
The 2012 Honda CR-V will land on the European shores by mid-2012 and since the company derives its cars for the Indian market from the European, we expect the new CR-V to hit the nation by 2013.
Honda will be releasing the European CR-V on March 6 at the Geneva Motor Show.
