Japanese car manufacturer, Honda has released an official teaser image of the upcoming Brio-based sedan on its Thailand website ahead of its launch in November this year over there. Ever since the launch of Brio hatch there had been reports that Honda is silently developing Brio-based sedan for 2013 and we had also posted an article regarding the same last-year.
The Brio-based sedan is believed to be sub-four-metre in length and will hence benefit on the excise duty front. When launched, this new compact sedan will compete with the likes of the Indigo eCS, Swift Dzire and the upcoming Mahindra Verito CS which is expected to arrive before March-2013. As of now, the Brio-based sedan is known as the Brio CS (Compact Sedan) and codenamed the Honda 2TP.
The shocking bit lies under the hood, it will be powered by the all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine which is expected to have a decent power output and good mileage. Besides this, the petrol version will be available powered by the same 1.2-litre VTEC petrol engine. The Brio sedan is expected to be the first diesel powered Honda car in India and is sure to create a huge excitement among the masses which would definitely have a long waiting period.
Honda Brio sedan is scheduled to hit our shores mid-2013 (by April-2013).
