Hero MotoCorp joins hand with AVL Company

Hero MotoCorp ties up with AVL Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL) has recently announced the partnered with AVL Company for developing engines for Hero MotoCorp. AVL (Anstalt für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen List) is an Austrian automotive consulting company, and is one of the largest firms in Austria, which specializes in automotive engine development. Hero MotoCorp has also partnered Erik Buell Racing [EBR] firm, which is located in United States of America. EBR will also be providing their technical support to Hero MotoCorp in designing and developing engines.

According to news reported by Economic times, partnership with AVL is independent from EBR. This partnership came into existence after Hero MotoCorp dissolved its partnership with Honda. AVL has given their vital technical support in development of engines like 2.2 liter mHawk and 2.2 DICOR engine. 2.2 liter mHawk engine are found in Mahindra Xylo E9, Scorpio, XUV500. The 2.2 DICOR engine is found in Safari and Aria. This new partnership with AVL will help Hero MotoCorp to strengthen its own engine research abilities, which will help Hero MotoCorp to be self-reliable, as far as technology is concerned.

Hero MotoCorp and AVL firms have already commenced the work process, and they both are working towards development of Hero MotoCorp engines for future models. Hero MotoCorp have sent few of their employees from Research and Development department to Austria and few engineers are working along with AVL engineers at the research center situated in Gurgaon. Hero MotoCorp is focusing in building its own 100-cc engine which will be mounted in future model units like Dawn, Splendor, Pleasure, and Maestro. Hero MotoCorp will very soon shift its gear and will also speed up the process of designing and developing their own 150-cc powered engines, which have better fuel efficiency and are more reliable.
