Hero to launch non-Honda products in 2015

Hero MotoCorp had to undertake major advertising and research and development expenditure when it broke off its long term alliance from Honda. Honda was to continue providing technical support to the giant but as it turns out, the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer is all set to launch its first crop of non-Honda developed vehicles which have been built by its in-house team without any support from Honda.

Hero is readying itself up to launch more than 4 new products in 2015. Dash, the 110cc scooter has had its motor being developed by Hero itself. It is expected to launch in first half of 2015 and is believed to be the most powerful and efficient one in the segment when it gets launched. It was due for a launch in later half of 2014 but the same didn’t happen.

Hero is planning an all new 150cc premium motorcycle which will be targeted towards the likes of FZ V2 and Suzuki Gixxer. Like the Dash, it is expected to be the one having the best-in-class power output figures and fuel-efficiency.  A 125cc scooter with the moniker Dare will also be launched to go up against the Activa 125 and Access 125.

A new 110cc motorcycle which will become a part of the Splendor lineup is also in the works. And the year will end with the launch of the much awaited HX250R in the second half of 2015. Hero is the world’s largest and India’s most trusted two wheeler brand. And seeing the fact that there quite a few offerings in the pipeline, the competition will surely have a hard time catching up.
