Television is the most effective and the fastest way to get to the audience, and it seems Ford has realized this and came with this campaign “EcoSport Discoveries” a contest where 100 people from 12 cities who think they know their city better than anyone else get to participate and drive the new Ford Ecosport for 3 weeks, and not just that but one lucky winner also stands a chance to win one. And it’s not all; the contest will be shared online so each team gets a chance to gather support from family, friends and others. And if any team wins, ten lucky followers of the winning team get iPads from team Ford. This ad was broadcasted on various television channels and also on other media like radio and digital.
From the time Ford announced the launch of the Ford Ecosport last-year at the 2012 Delhi AutoExpo there has been a variety of SUV`s launched in India, including the best-selling and multiple-award-winner Renault Duster and M&M`s Quanto. The Ford Ecosport is a sub 4-meter crossover which will be classified as a small car in India, and also will attract an excise duty of only 12% rather than the new excise duty of 30% after the 2013 Union budget. This may give a boost to the sales in India.
The Ford Ecosport will be available in petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant is equipped with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and it will be priced around Rs 5.99 lakh to 6.25 lakh and the diesel variant has a 1.5-litre diesel engine and will likely be priced around Rs 6.99 lakh to 7.25 lakh. The petrol EcoBoost EcoSport is expected to give a mileage of 16 kmpl in city and nearly 20 kmpl on highways. The manual as well as automatic variants return similar fuel efficiency thanks to its dual clutch system. Diesel engine is also very efficient and will give you a fuel efficiency of around 15 kmpl in city and may return 17-18 kmpl on highways. These figures will be attracting many Indian buyers for sure.
