Ford India is still celebrating after the recent launch of Ford EcoSport on June 26th last year. This particular launch has not only raised the falling sales of Ford in the past few months prior to its launch but has also increased the sales of the SUV’s giving it an entirely new dimension in the Indian sales market.
Ford EcoSport has received an enormous response since its launch which is still continued as the buyers are currently experiencing longer waiting periods. Several customers across the country who have already booked a specific variant of EcoSport at the time of launch are asked to wait for the delivery of their vehicle till March this-year which may be still delayed by one or two months.
The unexpected demand of the Ford EcoSport has forced Ford to offer other models to its customers and benefits worth Rs. 10,000/- on these models. If customers want to cancel their bookings, Ford has also waived off cancellation fee so that the customers can claim the full refund of the booking amount. False promises of earlier delivery dates have put off most customers while the dealers are pressing on delivery of other Ford cars immediately with cost benefits.
Ford has only managed to deliver 30,000 units to its customers out of more than 60,000 bookings received since its launch. As per the reports, Ford has also increased its price in the range of 1 percent to 5 percent across all models from January this year which would result in making the customers waiting for the delivery of their already booked EcoSport to be more expensive than the price at the time of booking.
