Mahindra XUV 500

India’s leading SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) re-opens the flood gates for its flagship model Mahindra XUV 500 from June 8, 2012. Now, the XUV500 will be available all over the country. This is the third time that Mahindra has opened bookings for the XUV500.

The company had earlier selected 7200 customers out of the 25000 applications that it received in the second phase of bookings, through a lottery system. Mahindra says that they have already sold out nine months production capacity for the XUV500. Currently production has been ramped up to 4000 vehicles per month.

Mr. Pravin Shah, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M said, “It has been an incredible journey so far for the XUV500 and we are pleased to take the product national. Now that we have ramped up our production capacity significantly, we are confident that we will be able to take care of the growing all-India demand for the XUV500.”

Once bookings resume, the SUV can be booked for Rs 40,000-50,000, with the deliveries taking from a month to four months’ time.
