Recently we posted the spied Hyundai i20 facelift, now a while when I was going through the AutoCarIndia magazine I found an interesting tiny snap of the upcoming fluidic Hyundai i20 facelift. The company had initially rumored to release the facelifted i20 at the upcoming Auto Expo, but the new i20 will be launched only in April this year.
From the images it is evident that new i20 gets the fluidic design tenets featuring the current hexagonal grille, just like the sharply re-designed i10. There also appears to be a new set of tail lamps at the rear. The side profile doesn’t seem to have undergone much change when compared to the existing i20. There might also be some minor tweaks to the features list apart from the visual upgrades although at this point most of that is still pretty much unclear.
So, this has been working quite in favour of the car manufacturer that doesn’t actually need an engine overhaul for the moment. However, auto major hasn’t quite discussed the options with anybody as of now. Speculating is all we can do at the moment. The 1.2 L Kappa petrol engine is mated with a 5-speed manual gear box and the 1.4 L Gamma petrol motors is equipped with a 4-speed automatic gearbox to produce 100 PS peak power and finally a 1.4 L CRDi engine is quite promising on the fuel efficiency front delivering 23 kmpl on highways.
