Datsun is reportedly planning to launch a limited edition of its Redi-Go hatchback, christened the Redi-Go Diamond Edition. This comes after the good response, it has received since the Redi-Go was launched in 2016. The Redi-Go Diamond Edition is set to feature some cosmetic changes.
These changes include a new color scheme, wheel caps, roof-rails and decals on the bonnet. It is also expected to come with some small changes to improve build quality. Datsun will consider its launch in a bid to clear the remaining stock of the car.
The car will come with two engine options: an 800cc three-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder Diesel. The former produces 54 BHP of power and 72 Nm of Torque, with the latter capable of producing 67 BHP of power and 91 Nm of Torque. Both will come mated to a 5-speed Manual gearbox.
The 1.0-litre model is offered with an AMT gearbox option, it remains to be seen whether the Diamond Edition will get it. Looking at Datsun’s track record in India, expect the Diamond Edition to come at an attractive price which could lure buyers to its showrooms. Expect the entry-level hatchback to bring volumes to Datsun in India.
