Nissan’s budget car brand, Datsun has launched its second product Go+ MPV in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 3.79 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The car is now India’s first-of-its-kind sub-4-metre compact MPV, which is more-or-less a large five-seater hatchback with a flexible third row, best suited for children or your dog. At the moment, there is no direct competitor for this car.
The GO+ is targeted at families who want a 7-seater on a tight budget.
At first glimpse the Go+ looks like the enlarged version of Go hatchback, which was launched in March-2014. It measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,635 mm in width and 1,485 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm. Inside the cabin, the Go+ offers a seating configuration of 2+3+2. The rear seats get a folding option which increases the boot space upto 347 litres.
On the inside, the only change over the smaller offering is a 7 seater layout. The rest of the cabin gets similar features with the top of the line variant embraces an power steering, wheel covers, body colored bumpers, HVAC system, front power windows, a mobile dock with AUX-in and USB charger, 2 on-board speakers, manual central locking and follow-me home headlights.
The dashboard and features are similar to the GO hatchback.
Based on the Go hatchback, the Go+ is powered by the same engine – a 1,198 cc, 3-cylinder, petrol that produces 67 bhp @ 5000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 20.62kmpl and can manage to clock 100 kmph in under 16 seconds and reach top speed of around 150 kmph. A diesel variant is not on offer.
Datsun has already started taking bookings for Go+ on the down payment of Rs.11,000 which is refundable to the owner on cancellation of booking if he is not interested to buy it. The Go+ is available in four variants, namely – D, D1, A and T.

- GO+ D: Rs. 3.79 lakh
- GO+ D1: Rs. 3.82 lakh
- GO+ A: Rs. 4.15 lakh
- GO+ T: Rs. 4.61 lakh
