The Chevrolet Trailblazer made its India debut today at a price of Rs 26.4 lakh (ex-Showroom, New Delhi). In India, the Trailblazer is being offered in a single variant with an automatic gearbox and rear wheel drive.
The Trailblazer can be booked at your nearest Chevrolet dealerships with a minimum amount of Rs 25,000. GM India is also accepting bookings for Trailblazer via Amazon India between October 21 and October 26, 2015. This is Chevrolet’s second take at the premium SUV segment after Captiva and will be imported to India as a CBU from Thailand initially.
The full-sized 7-seater SUV, the Trailblazer boasts a modern and well proportioned overall design. The SUV has relatively simple styling, but enormous street presence. The design clearly seems to be borrowed from globally successful Chevy trucks. Exterior features dual-port grille, projector headlamps and gets wrap-around LED tail lamp cluster along with chrome accents. This mammoth SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 265/60 R18 section tyres.
The interior of the seven-seater features a beige and black color scheme with piano black trims on central console. Feature-wise it gets a leather upholstery, multifunction steering wheel, 7-inch MyLink touchscreen entertainment system with USB, CD, Bluetooth and AUX-in, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear AC and electrically-adjustable driver’s seat. The MyLink system supports Siri Eyes Free for Apple iPhone owners.
Powering the Trailblazer is a 2.8-liter four cylinder Duramax turbocharged diesel engine, which produces 200 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 500 Nm @ 2,000 rpm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission that sends torque to the rear wheels. Fuel mileage is rated at 11.45 kmpL (as per CMVR Rule 115).
As far as safety is concerned, the Trailblazer comes standard with dual air bags, electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), cornering brake control (CBC), hill start assist (HSA), hill descent control (HDC), traction control system (TCS), panic brake assist (PBA), hydraulic brake assist (HBA), reverse parking sensors and camera.
