Karim Habib – never heard of him? Well, he’s the man behind the the exterior design of the current generation BMW 7-Series and the 2007 BMW Concept CS. Habib has just been promoted to the position of Head of BMW Design and will be starting his position on June 1, 2012.
The Lebanon-born Canadian has been in charge of BMW’s exterior design since March of 2011 and apparently he has now proven himself to lead design of the brand overall.
Habib will be reporting to Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.
“Karim Habib is an outstanding designer who has had a significant impact on the design of the BMW brand over many years. His longstanding experience and subtle instinct for timely elegance and dynamics are the ideal prerequisites for this demanding task. I look forward very much to his support and collaboration,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.
“I feel very honoured and I look forward to this new challenge,” said Habib. “Now I have the opportunity of working together with a great team to shape the future face of the BMW brand.”
