Bajaj Pulsar 200NS designer resigns, joins BMW

53-year old Edgar Heinrich

53-year old Edgar Heinrich, vice president for product design at Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) and now known as the man who designed the Pulsar 200NS has quit his position and joined his former employer BMW Motorrad as the head of BMW group motorcycle design studio. He will be taking over responsibilities from David Robb, the previous head of BMW AG’s motorcycle division on 1st of July 2012. Heinrich has been credited with the design of the legendary R 1100 RS, RT, K1200R and also the R 1150GS and R1200 GS. Some of the famous Paris-Dakar machines were also his creation.

At BAL, Heinrich used to handle the brand strategy, brand definition portfolio for Bajaj’s two and four-wheeler design. He started his career with BMW in 1986 and it was only in 2009 July, he left to work with BAL. Other than this, he also has a hand in the designing of some of the famous Paris-Dakar bikes.
