There is a 10 feet long Captain America look-alike bike racing the streets of Bangalore. This chopper bike is owned by Zakir Hussain Khan, a 25 year old interior designer who is a bike enthusiast. He has been into modifying bikes and cars since age 18. Zakir has created with unique motorcycle that is being powered by a converted 500cc Royal Enfield engine and flaunts an unusually big rear wheel. Zakir states that he has always been intrigued by chopper bikes (handcrafted/ modified motorcycles) of the West. Zakir has put 3 months of efforts in creating this fantastic bike which he has named ‘Big Indian.’
Zakir invests a large part of his earning in modifying bikes. For the Big Indian, he went ahead to import Maxxis Trepador tyre that are manufactured by Cheng Shin Rubber, a Taiwan based company that works with the business name Maxxis International. The tyre used in the bike is generally manufactured to be used in SUVs and light trucks. It cost Zakir around Rs. 60,000 to get the tyre imported from Germany.
The bike’s another cool and unique feature is the silencer that emanates fire from its exhaust. The cost of the silencer alone was Rs. 1,50,000. Zakir completed the bike from scratch in about Rs. 6.25 Lakhs. Other amazing features of the Big Indian include extended forks, lengthened frame, Gatling-style barrels and a skull headlight.
Zakir Hussain Khan was test riding his bike in an area near actor Upendra’s house. Fascinated by the motorcycle, his son called him to come out and have a look. The actor appeared quite impressed with this mean machine. Upendra is known for his larger than life characters and extravagant movies. Apparently, he inspected the bike for a few minutes and is now planning to feature Big Indian in his movies.
