Here’s a jaw dropping news for Pulsar fans, Eric Vas, President of Bajaj’s Motorcycle business has confirmed in an interview at Autocarpro, that there could be a Pulsar CS 200 as well in the pipeline.
Eric Vas has also claimed that they have scheduled only a single Pulsar launch for the remaining part of the 2015, which will probably be the new Pulsar NS150 that will launch soon. The NS150 will share the design from the Pulsar 200NS and the engine from the new Pulsar AS150, however, will be priced few thousand less than the Adventure 150!
Coming back to the topic, the Pulsar CS200 will definitely be get the Pulsar RS200’s underpinning. The engine on the RS200 is a fuel-injected 199.5cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine producing 24.5 PS at 9500 RPM and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Like the RS200, the CS200 is likely to be available in two variants – ABS and non-ABS.
At the 2014 Auto Expo, Bajaj Auto excited Pulsar lovers by unveiling the Pulsar SS400 and CS400 performance motorcycles. Couple of months before, the company launched its first full-faired Pulsar the RS200 drawing design cues from the SS400. Now the company has hinted that there could be a derivative of the CS400 which is nothing but the CS200.
Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Auto has officially confirmed the launch of the CS400 and the SS400 within this financial year, probably by March-2016. Thus, the launch of CS200 will be scheduled for the second half of 2016 because the company has to calibrate the price of the CS200 wisely, such that pricing should be similar to that of the RS200.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto is also working on an updated Avenger which is scheduled to launch by end-2015.
