A few months ago, Bajaj Auto had promised us Indians that a faired version of the Pulsar 200 NS would be launched. The excitement that this promise generated in the Indian biking community was very much understandable as it was a Bajaj. Bajaj has been known for doing the impossible when it comes to its bikes, Their ‘features : price’ ratio is unbeatable and they have been using this tactic right from the first Pulsars that came out more than a decade ago right till their latest discover series launches. They always provide the customer with the best in class features for a lower price than the competitors, and everyone can safely predict that the upcoming 200 SS will be no different.
Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS – FrontView
The 200 SS has been under development for quite sometime now, and though Bajaj has not yet revealed any details about the motorcycle, it has been spotted testing a number of times by different auto scribes and enthusiasts at different places. All this while, it had been spotted with the camouflage material on it, even though we could spot the basic design lines showing through the camouflage, the detailed view of the build quality and fit and finish of the bike were not visible at all.
Now though, it is visible, because we have got our hands on a few spy pictures of the 200 SS without any camouflage on it whatsoever, and this time it was not spotted while on the move. The 200 SS was spotted at a Bajaj Dealership’s stockyard, located in Pune. These spy pictures not only give us a closer look at the design aspects of thee 200 SS, but also indicates that the launch date of the 200 SS is drawing nearer and nearer with every passing day.
Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS – RearView
The 200 SS looks very sporty indeed, with the Huge bulky fairings up front and the completely new headlamp design. the designers at Bajaj have also added Daytime Running Light to the bike, making it look really aggressive, but it also suits the whole overall design of the bike. Under all the new fairing and the redesigned body panels is the same perimeter frame being used in the 200 NS and the same suspension components doing duty in the 200 NS.
The pulsar 200 SS will be powered by the same Liquid-cooled, 200cc, Single-cylinder engine used in the 200 NS, but it might be in a slightly higher state of tune in the 200 SS. Even the suspension will be tuned in a slightly different way. the Pulsar 200 SS will compete with the likes of the Honda CBR-250R and the upcoming KTM RC-200.
