It’s no secret that Bajaj Auto is coming up with an adventure tourer version of its next-gen Pulsar 150 – we’ve seen spyshots early last-month, and now we have yet another fresh spyshots coming from the popular magazine AutoCarIndia.
The Pulsar 150AS variant gets mono-shock suspension at the rear.
Today’s spyshots reveal its face for the first time – although it’s of little use since the front end looks no different from the 200AS, and the part we’re really interested in (the side body panels) continues to play chameleon. However, there are various parts differentiating the Pulsar 150AS from the larger 200AS like the slimmer tyres, the lack of a radiator ahead of a not-so-full engine bay and drum rear brake.
We see a more upright clear visor for rider protection from wind blast when touring and comes with a projector light, split seats, illuminated switches and a petal type front disc. The Pulsar 150AS will feature plenty of lightweight parts like 17-inch alloy wheels, alloy footrests and perimeter frame introduced in Pulsar 200 NS. Fuel-injection system or ABS system will not be on offer for the Pulsar 150AS.
The 150AS will not get an fuel-injection or ABS system.
Powering the 150AS will be the same motor found on the existing Pulsar 150 DTS-i model. This motor will be slightly tweaked to produce more power. The leaked specifications on a Turkish website reveal the 4-valve 149.5cc single cylinder air cooled engine fed by a carburetor will churn-out 16.7 BHP of power @ 9,000 RPM and 13 Nm of torque @ 7,500 RPM mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Nothing here is confirmed yet though, and we will have to wait for an official announcement by Bajaj Auto to know the fate of the Pulsar 150AS in India!
