Rajiv Bajaj, the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto pulled the wraps off the Bajaj Discover yet again, this time with a 125cc DTSi engine, which in a way is harkening back to the very first of the Discover line of sporty commuter motorcycles. The Bajaj Discover first began life as a 125cc four stroke motorcycle intended to be Bajaj’s offering in the 125cc four stroke commuter motorcycle segment. While the Discover 125 sold decently, Bajaj got all tangled up with aggressive portfolio expansion and launched too many variants of the Discover thus, obscuring the original, which finally led to the Discover 125′s demise. Life, seems to have come a full circle for Bajaj and the Discover 125, as the motorcycle was launched yet again, today, in Mumbai.
The new Discover 125 a blend of style, fuel efficiency, performance as well as features a 125cc, air cooled, 2 valve, SOHC, four stroke DTSi engine which produces 11 hp of peak power and 10.8 Nm of torque, delivering a top speed of 100 kph and a mileage of 82.4 KMPL. The Bajaj Discover 125 DTSi is priced at a competitive INR 45,500 for the Drum brake model while the Disc brake model will cost INR 48,000 with both prices being Ex-showroom New Delhi.
Bajaj now sells three variant of the Discover – 100, 125 and 150. Discover 125cc will be launched in phases across the country.
