Bajaj Auto is a confused player in sub-Pulsar segment, the company frequently keeps on launching, discontinuing and re-launching its products in this segment, as per its wish.
Now the company has yet again launched the Discover 125 with improved specification, features and styling bits. As per the official website, the new Discover 125 is priced at Rs. 52,002 (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the second innings, the Discover 125 is a feature loaded, 125cc, affordable motorcycle which has become a very tough competitor for the Hero Glamour, Honda CB Shine and TVS Phoenix.
The Discover 125 is similar to the older version of the Discover model. The headlamps fairing, fuel tank design and body panels are the same, but to get a fresh look the company has coated the engine and alloy wheels in silver retaining the old look of Discover. On the braking front, the bike gets a 200 mm front petal disc as standard while the rear uses a 130 mm drum. The bike gets kick and electric start options.
Powering the Discover 125 is the same 124.6cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, 2-valve, DTS-i engine with ExhausTEC, which was powering the older version. The motor makes 10.9bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and delivers a peak torque of 10.8Nm at 5,500rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox using a wet multi-plate clutch arrangement. The company has improved the performance of the engine, which delivers a fuel economy of 82.4 kmpl.
