After the launch of Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in January, this gave rise to rumors which suggested that the company is discontinuing old Pulsar range including Pulsar 220 to replace them with new versions, although this news was not confirmed by the officials. But now it’s been confirmed by the trusted sources that Bajaj Auto will not be discontinuing the old Pulsars and will continue to sell them alongside the Pulsar 200NS. The company has also assured that it will launch a new variant of Pulsar every year from now onwards and the Pulsar brand will keep on growing bigger for the years to come.
Currently, Pulsar 220 is the flagship motorcycle from the Bajaj line-up. With the tagline ‘the fastest Indian’, it has worked wonders for Bajaj Auto. Hence, Bajaj Auto does not want to discontinue the amazing sales of Pulsar 220 for the next 2 years atleast. But once its sales start declining, the company will phase out the model from the market. At present, when the company will launch Pulsar 200NS this-month, it will be differentiate the Pulsar 220 by pricing the former significantly higher.
Talking about the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180, Bajaj Auto either doesn’t have any near future plans to discontinue these models, nor is a new model coming to replace them anytime soon. The perimeter frame found on the Pulsar 200 NS will not be supportive for a 150 or 180 but slight updates to these products are likely next-year. Other variant of Pulsar, Pulsar SS (Super Sports) is assumed to be launched by the end of this year and a 350cc version of the Pulsar will be showcased by the company next-year.
