Aprilia SR 150 Race launched: Rs. 70,288, gets visual updates inspired by 2016 Moto GP bike

Great news for scooty fans, as the Aprilia SR 150 is now available in Race limited edition for India. As you’d expect, the scooter gets several visual upgrades, and will get new features.

The Aprilia SR 150 Race gets Aprilia’s 2016 Moto GP inspired body graphics.

Beginning with the exterior, the SR 150 comes in a new Maze Grey body colour and gets a fresh new body decals inspired by Aprilia’s 2016 Moto GP bike. The brake calliper gets a golden finish and rear monoshock get red coloured finish. The 14-inch alloys are finished in red colour, while Aprilia is also offering a race boom exhaust as an accessory.

As speculated, there are no mechanical changes. The powertrain is carried forward from the standard sports scooter and is a 154.8 cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 10.4 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and 11.4 Nm of torque @ 5,000 rpm. However, Aprilia claims that its fitted with a modified gearbox tuned for faster acceleration.

Aprilia has also tweaked the CVT gearbox to register a better initial acceleration.

The stopping duty is handled by a 220 mm disc at the front and 140 mm drum at the rear. Priced at Rs. 70,288, the Aprilia SR 150 Race is priced Rs. 3088 more than the standard model which costs  Rs. 67,200 (all prices are of ex-showroom, Mumbai). The deliveries for slightly sportier variant of the SR 150 will begin next month.
