Chairman of Mahindra Group, Mr. Anand Mahindra has gifted himself a heavily-customized Mahindra TUV300 top-of-the-line T8 trim for his personal use. Although model seen here is unknown if its a manual or AMT variant. It bears a ‘1555’ registration number, which is apparently his preferred number.
Rugged body kits (package) on the boss car are genuine Mahindra accessories. Finished in Olive Green scheme, Mr. Mahindra’s TUV300 list of armour accessories include a guard for the lower air dam, toughened front and rear scuff plates, a bonnet hull, a set of side cladding, more pronounced wheel arches and marker lamps with shroud on the roof.
Apart from the above, the other cosmetic accessories for TUV300 includes chrome surrounds for the lower grille, chrome accents for the foglamp bezels, door handles, rear view mirrors, roof rails and tail lamps. There are some utility-focused add-ons such as a side protector, including steel side step, aluminium side step, roof carrier, inflatable roof carrier, machined alloy wheels, bicycle carrier, and all-weather floor mats.
The interiors too can be customized with a myriad of options, which range from different dashboard trims to a fancier infotainment system, screens for rear seat occupants, reverse assist camera, front and rear parking sensors, thermo-electric chiller, head-up display and surround sound enhancer. The list goes-on other add-ons too for the TUV300 include a rear spoiler, metal-finish wheel covers, illuminated scuff plates, and premium seat upholstery.
Powering the TUV300 is a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine that producing 80 BHP and 230 Nm of torque. The power is transferred to the road through rear wheel drive and the TUV300 gets an option between 5-speed manual delivering 18.49 kmpl as well as AMT gearbox returning 17 kmpl. Prices for the Mahindra TUV300 start at Rs. 6.98 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
