SPY VIDEO: Bajaj Auto to launch Pulsar NS160 2019 Model with Rear Disc Brake

Bajaj Auto is looking to upgrade their popular Pulsar NS160, in order to keep it fresh amongst growing competition. This could see the motorcycle gaining more features and also getting more desirable. We can expect the company to launch the 2019 Pulsar NS160 in October this-year.

The updated Pulsar NS160 filmed here features a new 5-spoke alloy wheels similar to the ones found on the Pulsar 150, and a 230 mm rear disc brake. Surprisingly, this Pulsar NS160 with rear disc misses-out on ABS which will be mandatory on all two-wheelers measuring over 125cc from April-2019, as per the new law by Indian Government.

But there are reports that the company is working on a single-channel ABS system for the NS160. Rival two-wheeler manufacturers have also been adding this feature on their performance motorcycles catering to the 150-160cc segment like Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda CB Hornet 160R and the Yamaha FZ-S.

The updated 2019 Pulsar NS160 spied gets a 230 mm rear disc brake, and new 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels.

The 2019 NS160 will use the same 160cc, four-stroke, oil-cooled engine. This engine produces 15.5 BHP of power and 14.6 Nm of torque. It will also include Bajaj’s famed triple-spark plug ignition technology. The addition of ABS will make the bike pricier by about Rs.10,000. No changes are expected to take place mechanically on the motorcycle.

Currently, the Pulsar NS160 retails for Rs. 82,624 (ex-showroom Delhi), so we can expect the bike to see a slight increase in price due to the inclusion rear disc brake and ABS. Given the popularity of the Pulsar NS160 here, we can expect to see some good demand for the ABS version of the motorcycle as well.
