Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has been able to deliver decent performance ever since its launch in the entry-level sportsbike segment. It clicked with the consumer because of its attractive pricing and super-bike in terms of design. However, now some experimentation has begun on the part of a Bajaj Auto dealer in Mumbai.
The Pulsar RS200 is on-sale in India with 3 colour options – Demon Black, Red and Yellow. There are reports of a Blue colour also on production, but that is exclusive for export markets. Executive Bajaj, a Mumbai-based Bajaj dealer is offering a couple of customized colour options like – the Matte Black and the Monster Green.
The dealership charges Rs. 15,000 over the cost of motorcycle, and declares a waiting period of 10 days for the paint-job, along with an additional 1-year warranty. The dealer-level modification is purely cosmetic and doesn’t appear to have any implications on the product’s manufacturer warranty. One more new colour is expected to be offered shortly.
Refresher: Based on the same platform as the Pulsar 200NS, the Pulsar RS200 is powered by the same 199.5cc Single Cylinder, 4-stroke, Triple Spark engine but gets fuel injection as standard and generates maximum power of 24.2 BHP (24.5 PS) @ 9750 rpm with max torque of 18.6 NM @ 8000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and uses the liquid cooling system. Bajaj claims the Pulsar RS200 will hit top speed of 140.8 KMPH and it should cross the 100 KMPH mark in 9.5-9.8 seconds.
