Italian car manufacturer, Fiat Group Automobiles India has launched the much-awaited compact sports utility vehicle Avventura with price ranging from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 8.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Avventura is what Fiat calls a ‘Contemporary Urban Vehicle (CUV)’, which is a more muscular looking version of its premium hatchback – Punto Evo.
Fiat Avventura – FrontViewThe Avventura crossover has been designed in Italy, though specially keeping Indian road conditions in mind. Despite its compact nature, ground clearance stands at 205 mm, similar to Renault Duster and an all-new 16 inch alloy wheels, across all variants as well as aluminium roof rails, further adds the macho appeal.
On the exterior, the Avventura gets additional body cladding ensuring a muscular stance while front fascia sports single piece mesh grill, projector headlamps, grey coloured front bash plate and adding to sporty looks are LED lights. For further enhancement in its SUV-ish stance, the vehicle gets a large tailgate mounted spare wheel with a well designed wheel cover and a trapezoidal tail pipe.
Fiat Avventura – DashViewInteriors are similar to the Punto Evo but now includes some specific touches like a tilt-meter with an inclinometer to measure inclines, high terrain gauge, and a compass are part of standard equipment. Other additional features include 60:40 rear seat folding on the inside makes for flexible seating choice, and more storage.
The Avventura will be sold in 3 trim variants – Active, Dynamic and Emotion and will be powered by a 1.4-litre petrol motor for the Active and Dynamic variant only; and a 1.3-litre diesel motor available in all 3 variants. Both come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The diesel delivers claimed fuel economy of 20.5 kmpl while petrol model delivers 14.4 kmpl.
Fiat Avventura – RearViewIn terms of color options, the Avventura comes in six body shades, Bronzo Tan, Minimum Grey, Exotica Red, Hip-Hop Black, Vocal white and the auto-expo showcased trademark Zafferano Orange shade. It will be sold from 125 exclusive Fiat dealerships, spread across 98 cities in 24 states.
