Just as we said earlier this-month that Maruti would bring the new Alto 800 around the festive season of Diwali to ensure it doesn’t lose out to the market. Now according to the reports in EconomicTimes, we have learnt that Maruti will launch the Alto 800 as per the original plan in Diwali, to keep their market leadership ambitions afloat. Also the Manesar plant is reported to be restarting operation very soon.
New Alto 800 will be rolled out of the Gurgaon plant of Maruti Suzuki and replace the existing Maruti 800 and Maruti Alto F8. It is expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) and would compete with the likes of the Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano.
The company has already witnessed a sales loss of close to Rs 2,000 crore at Maruti’s Manesar plant. Therefore, Maruti will not delay the launch of its new Alto as this is the important launch of the company to regain their market share and volumes by the launch.
More details on the new Alto 800 will be revealed closer to launch date.
